Ramesh Laxmanrao Holbole

Ramesh Holbole is founder of Volksfilms and filmmaker who hails from a Dalit family, breaking barriers as the family's first graduate, currently residing in germany. He earned his master's degree in Direction and Screenplay Writing from the Film & Television Institute of India in 2020 and further honed his craft by studying in the International class (ICLA) at Filmakademie Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. His filmmaking talents have garnered numerous international and national awards including the Mana Wairoa Prize, Best Indigenous Director at Whakapapa film festival, Italy, UNEP Ecofilm Prize at the Science film festival organized by Goethe Institute. Best international short documentary award at Sole Luna Doc film festival Italy, Paul Călinescu Award for Best Documentary Film at 22nd CineMAiubit International student film festival Romania. His film got selected in almost 70 international film festivals all over the world. Beyond his cinematic achievements, Ramesh is deeply committed to cultural and social initiatives. He served as the director of the Samyak International Short Film & Documentary Film Festival in Pune (2014-2016) and the Pimpri Chinchwad International Short Film Festival in India. His leadership and vision continue to inspire and empower marginalized voices in the film industry. Currently, Ramesh is working on his first feature length film.

Over the past decade, I have immersed myself in the film industry, showcasing my talent as an actor in a myriad of professional plays, short films, and feature-length productions. My journey has been enriched by collaborations with esteemed directors in the realm of parallel cinema, including luminaries such as Dr. Jabbar Patel, the late Mrs. Sumitra Bhave, Mr. Vaman Kendre, Mr. Purushottam Berde, Mr. Firoz Abbas Khan, and Mr. Nagraj Manjule within the realm of modern cinema. Simultaneously, over the last seven years, I have diligently focused on augmenting my knowledge and experience in the realms of writing and direction. In 2017, I took on the dual roles of director and performer in the Marathi two-act play "Janaki," an adaptation of the renowned Marathi novel "Sood" by the esteemed author Baburao Bagul. This creative endeavor stands as a testament to my commitment to the craft of storytelling and my dedication to exploring diverse facets of the cinematic and theatrical landscape

Gautam Thorat

Gautam Thorat, with a decade of experience in the industry, is a seasoned cinematographer holding an M.Sc. in Media & Communication Studies from the DMCS department at Savitribai Phule Pune University. He is deeply engaged in socio-cultural initiatives, notably contributing to the Samyak Sahitya Sammelan and the Samyak Short Film & Documentary Festival in Pune. Driven by a passion for acting and dance, Gautam transitioned into filmmaking, where he excelled as the Lead Editor and Cinematographer at CLR Pune. In this role, he was instrumental in producing high-quality video content, demonstrating his expertise and commitment to the craft.

Accomplished Artist & Entrepreneur with a proven track record in the dynamic realm of the entertainment industry. I bring a wealth of expertise in various creative domains, showcasing proficiency in VFX, Video Editing, Motion Graphics, 2D/3D Animation, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), PHP, WordPress, Film, and Adobe Creative Suite. My journey includes a specialized focus in Visual Effects obtained from FRAMEBOXX, reflecting a commitment to continuous learning and mastery in the field. With a robust background, I have significantly contributed to the success of numerous Hindi, Marathi, and Bhojpuri films since 2008. Noteworthy projects include Jhund, Naal, Kamvirayan, Pistulya, Pavsacha Nibandh, among others. As a versatile professional, I am well-versed in navigating the intricacies of the creative process, ensuring the seamless integration of cutting-edge technologies and innovative storytelling. My commitment to excellence is evident in every project I undertake, contributing to the visual and narrative success of each production.

Nane Schröder

Nane Schröder

Nane Schröder is a journalist and aspiring filmmaker from Hamburg, Germany. She graduated in Ethnology from the Georg-August University in Göttingen in 2024. Since the beginning of her studies, she has aimed to translate social conflicts and ecological challenges into vivid narratives and visuals. She gained experience in this field during several internships at German broadcasters, newspapers and magazines. Inspired by her first extended stay in rural Odisha, Nane continues to produce videos for charitable organisations as well as for academic and commercial purposes. Themes of environmental protection, social justice and mental health are central to most of her work. After working as a local journalist in Göttingen, Nane decided to return to India for her third long stay. After assisting in the pre-production of an Indian documentary, she will be working with Volksfilms for the first time on a feature film.
