Nane Schröder is a journalist and aspiring filmmaker from Hamburg, Germany. She graduated in
Ethnology from the Georg-August University in Göttingen in 2024. Since the beginning of her studies,
she has aimed to translate social conflicts and ecological challenges into vivid narratives and visuals.
She gained experience in this field during several internships at German broadcasters, newspapers
and magazines. Inspired by her first extended stay in rural Odisha, Nane continues to produce videos
for charitable organisations as well as for academic and commercial purposes. Themes of
environmental protection, social justice and mental health are central to most of her work. After
working as a local journalist in Göttingen, Nane decided to return to India for her third long stay.
After assisting in the pre-production of an Indian documentary, she will be working with Volksfilms
for the first time on a feature film.
